Compact short variety with unusual bearded flowers. Tufts up to form a neat plant hat is idealised by most keen alpine gardeners. Best grown in a moist free draining position in dapple shade or morning/late afternoon sun. For the alpine rock garden and containers.

This is an excellent garden plant throughtout the summer. In winter leave alone except for cutting off all old flower stems and a few of the larger old leaves. In spring trim back any old foliage.
