With is ability to self seed freely and producing masses of white flowers Stardust is an appropriate name. Flowering through to early summer this Androsace brings joy to insects and gardeners alike. Works in borders, Alpine rock gardens, containers and pretty much most other areas as this is the easiest Androsace to grow. This is a sort lived plant but will survive by seeding.

Once this plant has flowered it will self seed around itself and the main plant dies back. The seed heads are quite interesting structurally so don’t be too quick to clear them away.

I think I missed the flowering season for this Androsace having collected it at Malvern and as it is short lived I hope it will survive to flower and seed next year. It currently looks happy and healthy.
